RE: Need help w-multiple battery hookup

Those 12v diagrams leave "downstream batteries" which you don't want. To balance the load and for even recharging, you want the pos on one end battery and the neg on the battery at the other end of the bank. Ditto, and then get a kill switch.:B

RE: Height of DMAX bed

39" from where to where, if thats from the ground to bed I dont see it playing a role in towing a 5er as it would from ground to rail, on the stock 4x4 its 57"

RE: Propane connection question

Charlan, are you saying he needs the low pressure adapter? I would like a similar setup for my B B Q. My portable grill uses the disposable cylinders, and I'd like to convert it to use my 5ers propane system. Please send me a PM about this. Thanks! The item in question is for use if you have a low pressure quick connect on the side of you trailer and your BBQ is a high pressure like the ones that take the small bottles, other vice you need a dual outlet on your trailer tank and a hose that will connect to your BBQ. I do believe there are some BBQ's that will work with low pressure.

RE: Our costs from Vancouver Island to Yukon then back

Check out www.seeyadowntheroad they are in the Yukon now. Click on 2008 travels. They show their costs and much higher than in this thread, especially diesel fuel. Report from CG's , restaurants are off 60% from last year. Glad we went in 2002. The prices they are paying for groceries is more than double U.S. Always nice to put uo a proper link.:BLink

RE: RV resorts/camping in BC...best times??

Jasper / Banff, are hard to beat, I never met a non-friendly person anywhere in B.C.! Last time I looked at a map, they have not moved the provincial boundries, and Jasper and Banff are in Alberta. Lots of people make that mistake, even if they ARE from BC, but they are national parks so I guess they belong to BC too eh.:B

RE: Problems with Montana RV

You’ve got to learn to be skeptical of these one post whiners about a product not being any good. Most are just a troll. The OP has only one post. Has never posted before or since. That's why I'm skeptical. JMO Activist skeptics, self-described "debunkers" are a subset of scientific skeptics who aim to expose in public what they see as the truth behind specific extraordinary claims. Debunkers may publish books, air TV programs, create websites, or use other means to advocate their message. In some cases they may challenge claimants outright or even stage elaborate hoaxes to prove their point Because debunkers often challenge popular ideas, many are not strangers to controversy. Critics of debunkers sometimes accuse them of robbing others of hope. Debunkers frequently reply that it is the claimant, whom they many times accuse of exploiting public gullibility, who is guilty of abuse Debunkers is good handle for a lot of the posters.:(

RE: 5ver seems so big now that it's off the lot!

I Also, we run Delorme and download the low clearances files which helps even though they are incomplete. On some older bridges remember they are normally higher in the middle, if there is an arch to them. Dale Delorme? RE: Fresh water pump

and further stated that I waited too long to de-winterize. I did not know there was a best before date for performing this function. I will deal with Jayco and lodge a complaint on Monday, but in the meantime has anyone had this problem or might have an idea? Sorry for long post as I am not a happy camper right now. Waited too long to de-winterize? :h that's a riot, I would find a new dealer, obviously they are trying to blow you off, complaining to the manufacturer is the way to go.

RE: Gray tank not vented?

this is commonly used in trailers, no roof stack required (for sinks only). This is most likely not a vent for the gray tank. It is probably a siphon breaker that prevents the water from being sucked out of the trap when the sink is drained. Both my SunnyBrook fiver and Lance TC have these on each sink. They are siphon breakers, they let air in but not out. In addition both units have roof vents for all of the respective tanks. Why would you vent a gray tank that has the possibility of producing foul odors in a living area. On second thought, if its vented inside why would you need the trap to start with. ryoung AAV valves can be used in lieu of expensive and complex plumbing (open pipe) vent systems that penetrate roofs of buildings. - The purpose of vents is to allow air to enter the plumbing drainage waste and vent system and equalize pressure when water drains out of the system maintaining the integrity of the water trap that prevents sewer gases from entering the building through fixture drains. - When a plumbing fixture is operated, negative pressure causes the AAV to open, allowing air to enter and equalize the pressure in the system. When the flow stops, gravity closes the valve preventing sewer gas from escaping through the valve into the building. Approved in Canada and the US.

RE: Propane quick connect

The quick disconnects plumbed into the RV system are low pressure. Make sure the BBQ you have will work on a low pressure, regulated system. Some have removed the regulators on their BBQ's but make sure that is recommended by the manufacturer. You don't want to void a warranty or cause a problem by doing that. The RVQ and the Olympian (with a factory supplied hose/fitting) will work on the low pressure system. Any BBQ that works on the little bottles of propane is high pressure. Be safe and do your homework first. VK Or you can get this low pressure addapter kit for any BBQ HERE
